Twelve to fourteen kilometres down the turquoise Köprüçay river through the pine canyon of the national park. Grade 2–3 rapids alternate with calm stretches where you can jump straight off the raft into the water.

Languages: Russian, English, Turkish, German, Ukrainian

The water is cold even in summer, around +15 °C. The rafting season runs April–October.

How it works

The drive from your hotel to the Köprülü national park takes 1.5–2 hours. You are given a wetsuit, life jacket, helmet and paddle, and the instructor runs a briefing on land. The descent itself is 12–14 km of grade 2–3 water, safe for beginners; on the calm stretches you can swim, with 3–3.5 hours on the water in total. The route finishes at a riverside restaurant where lunch is served (trout or chicken). We pass the old Roman bridge at Oluklu. Photographers shoot from the bank at the rapids.

★★★★★
First time rafting and it was a little scary, but the instructor in the boat explained everything and it went like clockwork. The rapids wake you up, and on the calm stretches we jumped into the water.

We went with our 9-year-old son, it was all safe and the equipment they gave us was decent. The trout lunch on the bank was excellent.

★★★★
The water really is icy even in June, but it is bearable in the wetsuit. The Roman bridge on the way is beautiful. Photos of the descent cost extra, which is a bit of a shame.
