How it works
A morning departure to Kaymaklı — one of the largest underground cities of Cappadocia, going down 8 levels (4 are open to visitors): narrow passages, ventilation shafts, kitchens and stables, and stone millstone doors. After lunch comes the Göreme open-air museum with its rock churches and Byzantine frescoes. We finish with the panorama from Uçhisar castle over the valleys. Entrance tickets are included; there is a lot of walking, at times through low tunnels.

Reviews
June 2026
The underground city is astonishing — 8 levels, stone millstone doors, kitchens and ventilation. In Göreme the frescoes in the rock churches are beautifully preserved. The guide was a walking encyclopaedia.

Interesting, but the passages are very narrow and low, and in places you have to stoop — hard if you are claustrophobic. Lunch is included and fine. On the whole we were happy.
