How it works
The drive from Antalya along the coast to Demre takes about 2.5 hours. We visit the Church of St Nicholas (the very same St Nicholas), then the rock necropolis and amphitheatre of ancient Myra, with rows of house-shaped Lycian tombs cut into the sheer cliff. After lunch we board a boat and sail over Kekova: above the sunken city the water is so clear that you can see foundations and steps leading underwater. A stop at Simena fortress and a swim in the bay.
